H.E. Mr. A.Polyakov’s courtesy visit to the Ugandan Prime Minister Rt.Hon. Dr. R.Rugunda

On December 15, 2016 the Russian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Alexander Polyakov paid a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda Rt.Hon. Dr.Ruhakana Rugunda.

The parties underlined the traditionally friendly relations between our countries, mutual respect, trust and sympathy between the leaders of our countries and expressed their intention to work on this basis for further intensification of the cooperation in practical areas. It was noted that Russia and Uganda had similar approaches to the pressing global problems that allowed our countries to successfully cooperate in the international arena, particularly at the United Nations.

H.E. Mr. A.Polyakov expressed gratitude to the Government of Uganda for making it possible to expedite work on drafts of several bilateral agreements. In his opinion, joint projects in the fields of ICT, hydrocarbon and nuclear energy, modern education and learning of the Russian language could be most promising. The launch of the Russian-Ugandan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in October 2016 will beyond doubt contribute to these projects.
